'Mō te Katoa -

Each For All'

Nau mai ki te kura ō Aranga

Our school is situated 40 kilometres north of Dargaville in the Kaipara District. We are a rural full primary school in close proximity to the Waipoua Forest, Ripiro Beach, Maunganui Bluff and the Kai Iwi Lakes.

To the left of our school is the tribal boundary of Ngati Whatua and to the right Nga Puhi. We are situated in the heart of Te Roroa.

Employment in our community is found through beef and dairy farming, the tourist industry, forestry work, the freezing works and self-employment.

We have a supportive community that participate in a variety of ways, who want and expect the best for their children, and who work hard to assist the school in achieving that. We work hard to foster close relationships with all stake holders within our community.

'Our goal is to develop confident, connected, actively involved, lifelong learners '

Principal's Welcome

E te tī, e te tā, e ngā rau huia ariki mā, nau mai, piki mai, rarau mai rā.

Ko Renee Hau ahua. He uri tēnei nō Ngāti Tūwharetoa, nō Ngāti Whātua hoki. Mauri ora ki a tātou katoa

This year I have the honour of joining the Aranga School community who enjoy some of the most beautiful surroundings that Aotearoa New Zealand has to offer! Nōku te whiwhi - It is my privilege to be apart of the Aranga School story.

As a kaitiaki (custodian) of education my philosophy includes acknowledging the tapu (sacredness) of each tauira (student) who I am fortunate to teach. I believe this is achieved through a very important tikanga (practice) of mana-aki-tanga.

Therefore, my goal is to ensure that every tauira is served with quality, engaging, and enjoyable teaching and learning experiences that equips them to reach their full potential in order to be the best people they can be.

Our daily timetable allows for academic, creative and physical activities so all tauira interests and learning styles are catered for.  We also teach through the Inquiry process to develop agentic learning.

Above all what is important to us is the wellbeing of our learning, our people, and our place.

Mō te katoa - Each for all.

Piki te ora, piki te kaha, piki te māramatanga ki koutou katoa.

Renee Hau.
